Rug Rats recently earned two certifications — the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council recognized the company as a certified women’s business enterprise and the Small Business Administration, a federal agency, recognized it as a women-owned small business.
When Sandy Pharr first began making rugs, she spent most of her time on her hands and knees, crawling across the floor to cut carpet and inlay pieces.
Pharr said she was essentially a “rug rat,” inspiring the name of her company, Rug Rats.
