Andrew Stanton has spent over half his life with “Toy Story.” He’s contributed to every movie, and now he’s co-writing and co-directing “Toy Story 5.” Stanton has also worked on other Pixar hits like “Finding Nemo” and “WALL-E.” The new film, set to release June 12, is expected to be a summer blockbuster likely to make over a billion dollars. Stanton says he always tries to put the show before the business. The fifth film introduces a new challenge for Bonnie’s toys: the Lilypad, a device that distracts from playtime. He says he also leaned more into the power of play and imagination.
