St. Martin business loses $575,000 in phishing scam

Two men from Texas and California have been arrested and are in jail in St. Martin Parish, facing charges for a gross phishing scam that defrauded a local business of over $575,000. Sheriff Becket Breaux said detectives began investigating Aug. 27, 2025, after a business reported the loss.
