Parking meters soon may disappear from downtown Charleston streets as new technology is letting cities rethink their approach to regulating on-street parking.
Downtown Charleston streets are lined with buildings and historical features that reflect the city’s age and state of preservation. They also contain things that don’t, such as about 1,200 parking meters.
