If we owned a multi-billion-dollar business in which our highest-paid contracted employees suffered the same, on-the-job injury that prevented them from working for at least a year, wouldn’t we do the most we could to fix, or at least reduce, that persistent business-afflicting problem? Not MLB and its teams. They’ve done nothing. The pitching elbow is now used as a slingshot, the last body part to throw heat toward the plate. Soon MLB will sell team-logo arm slings, “Unlimited supplies.”
