Louisiana DAs could get more time to prosecute corruption

Senate Bill 207 by state Sen. Blake Miguez would allow prosecutors to bring certain corruption charges against officials for up to 10 years after they leave office.

A Senate committee did not approve a proposal to remove the statutes of limitations for corruption charges against public officials — but it did agree that prosecutors should have more time to pursue those cases.
