“My life has been fabulous!” That’s how Aurora native and UNL women’s golf pioneer Jan Stanard describes her career in sales, teaching, and business leadership in locations around the nation and world.In the 1970s Stanard was a standout player on the Aurora girls golf team, winning the State Class B Girls Golf title in 1976 with an 18-hole score of 90. The work ethic which made her successful in golf carried over to her career, which she credits to her golf coach, Dick Binfield.“He was a great influence on me and gave me a great work ethic when I was young,” she said.
