Illinois sues Trump administration over $1B in frozen funds

The attorneys general of Illinois, California, Colorado, Minnesota and New York filed the lawsuit Thursday in federal court in New York, alleging federal officials have no legal or constitutional authority to freeze the money.

Illinois and four other states are suing the Trump administration over its decision earlier this week to withhold $10 billion in child care and family assistance funds.
