The Pentagon inspector general reported that systemic maintenance failures by Lockheed Martin have left the U.S. F-35 fleet mission-ready only about 50% of the time, undermining availability of the world’s most advanced stealth fighter.
The Department of War’s inspector general said the U.S. fleet of F-35s was available to fly only about half the time because of poor maintenance by Lockheed Martin, which builds the world’s most advanced stealth fighter.
