Wendell Freeman, dedicated Santa Rosa school and church volunteer, dies at 103

Wendell Freeman, a Marine during World War II and career General Electric employee, volunteered for decades at his Santa Rosa church and at a local school, where he looked after the garden and its roses.

Don’t tell anyone, but Wendell Freeman had a key to the yard at Luther Burbank Elementary School in Santa Rosa.
Not a teacher there, nor a parent or grandparent of a student, Freeman had a key because he was an honorary Bengal.
